Immigration Information

Step 1 | Arrive at Airport
- After landing, you will be directed to the Kathmandu airport. Please keep your flight boarding pass on you at this time.

Step 2 | Fill Visa on arrival form
- The form can be filled in-person or online nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/online

Step 3 | Pay tourist visa fee at airport bank next to immigration
- The 15 day tourist visa costs $30. The bank only accepts USD carry $30 cash (no credit cards) per person for the visa. The bank is located next to the immigration counter.

Step 4 | Pass immigration and baggage claim
- You will be asked to provide the receipt from the bank and your arrival boarding pass.

Step 5 | Hotel pickup
- We have arranged airport pickup for all guests at arrival.

Quick Facts & Tips

Passport validity:
Must have 6 months remaining validity or more at time of entry.

Currency and import restrictions for entry:
- Allowed to bring into Nepal: Up to US$5,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies without declaration).
- More than US$5,000: Must be declared at customs.
- Indian citizens can carry up to 25,000 INR per person into Nepal, and this includes denominations of INR 100 notes.
- Leaving Nepal: Cannot take out more than NPR 5,000, applies to both Nepali citizens and foreign nationals.
- Pure/raw/unworked gold and silver are strictly prohibited; worked gold/jewelry up to 50 grams and worked silver/jewelry up to 100 grams are allowed.

Electrical Plug Points in Nepal:
Nepal uses Type C, Type M, and Type D electrical plugs. The standard voltage is 230 V, and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
- Travelers should check their electronic devices and consider carrying a universal adapter to ensure compatibility.

Weather in Nepal in mid-April:
- April marks the start of the spring season in Nepal, offering pleasant weather conditions ideal for travel and outdoor activities.
- In Kathmandu and surrounding areas, expect daytime temperatures to range from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Evenings can be cooler, and light layers are recommended.
- This period is characterized by clear skies and minimal rainfall, providing excellent opportunities for sightseeing and trekking. However, weather in mountainous areas can be unpredictable, and it's advisable to prepare for varying conditions if you plan to visit higher elevations.
